About the Artist.

Hi my name’s Dave Pateman and Art has always been a way for me to explore texture, movement and emotion. Working professionally as a Venetian plaster installer has given me a deep appreciation for surfaces, materials and the beauty found in imperfection. Those experiences naturally found their way onto canvas, where I combine layered textures, earthy tones and handcrafted details to create contemporary abstract pieces with depth and character.

Each painting is created intuitively, allowing the layers to evolve over time rather than following a fixed plan. Influenced by nature, architecture and the effects of time on materials, my work is designed to bring warmth, balance and a sense of calm into modern interiors.

My aim is simple: to create original artwork that not only complements a space but also invites people to pause, look closer and discover something new every time they see it.

Based in the UK, I continue to develop my collection while balancing my work as a craftsman and artist. Every piece is entirely original, created by hand, and made with the intention of becoming a lasting part of someone’s home.
